The Teaching

The Teaching is the highest fulfillment.
The Teaching is the water of life.
The Teaching is the sweet nectar hidden at the center of existence.

Whoever has tasted this nectar desires nothing else.
The Teacher has tasted it – and is inseparably connected to it.

The Student is still searching for the nectar.
He believes himself to be separate from the Teaching.
But this is an illusion – for the Teaching includes him just as it includes the Teacher.

The function of the Teacher is to remind the Student of the Teaching.

The Student brings his questions to the Teacher and allows the Teacher to show him the way.
Without the Teacher, he will find no answer. Without the Teacher, he will not find the Teaching.

Once the Student realizes his inseparable connection to the Teaching, he is no longer a Student.
He is a Teacher.
For the Teacher is the one who has realized:
There is no outside of the Teaching.

As long as the Student tries to understand the Teacher, he remains a Student.
He will not come to realization.
But if he stops trying to understand the Teacher,
and instead turns his attention to the Teaching the Teacher points to,
then he will see:
He is not separate.
Not from the Teacher – and therefore not from the Teaching.
