The Cosmic Enneagram

“The Cosmic Enneagram” is the name of a completely new kind of Enneagram school that is currently emerging.
It is also the name of the ancient teaching around which this new school revolves.
And it is the name of the symbol that stands at the heart of the teaching.

The Symbol – Empty and Full of Potential

The Enneagram is a symbol that connects the first nine natural numbers – the nine digits of our decimal system – in a logical and surprisingly elegant way. That is its first and most obvious quality.

The second, equally important quality – which is often overlooked – is this: The Enneagram possesses no inherent meaning. It is empty of content. And it is precisely in this emptiness that a significant part of its value lies.

In these two characteristics – formal structure and openness of meaning – the Enneagram reflects life itself. Life, too, follows certain laws. And yet it is free from any intrinsic meaning. There is a structure – but what it means arises only through us.

The Enneagram is thus not a system of interpretation.
It is a field of resonance – an invitation not to find meaning, but to create it.

Beyond Typology or Process Model

The Enneagram is best known through the personality type system initiated by Ichazo. This teaching is valuable – but the Cosmic Enneagram is much more than that.

Less well known is the symbol as a process model, as described by some students of Gurdjieff. This approach is also of interest. Yet the Cosmic Enneagram goes far beyond even that.

Gurdjieff, who brought the Enneagram into the public, called it “the fundamental hieroglyph of a universal language.” He said all knowledge is contained within it – and only that which a person can recognize in the Enneagram has truly been understood.

A Portal – Not a Method

In approaching the Cosmic Enneagram, it is wise to forget everything you think you know about the Enneagram.

Here, you come closer to yourself.
Not to your personality type, not to your patterns of behavior – but to your true, radiant, innermost being.
To the image of the Holy One.
To the eternal face of God.

The Cosmic Enneagram is a portal.
The final gate before the formless.

I stand at this gate. And I can lead you there.
I teach the Cosmic Enneagram by directing your attention to it
– and by pointing away from all that does not belong to it.
